It’s good to have you on my website. My name is Venugopal Venkat Iyer and I am from Mumbai, India; currently living in Toronto. I am a multidisciplinary designer possessing skills in the field of Interaction Design, Visual Design and 3D design. As an empath and keen observer, I am naturally able to relate to the area of User Experience Design. I am highly experienced working in fast-paced workplaces and delivering quality work to esteemed brands while maintaining high communication across different teams and with clients. Adept at constructively engaging and coordinating with stakeholders and global teams. Some of my notable work includes projects for Netflix, TEDx, film celebrities, YouTubers, and social media influencers.
It was in 2019 while working on a project with Netflix that it made me think about how Netflix could run such a smooth website with exponential user response. After a little bit of research, I understood that the field of “UI UX design” had a lot of detailed study, which got me inspired to use a great amount of research and build something very valuable. Working as a Graphic Designer for more than 5 years it did not take me much time to transition but it sure was and still is a fun process of learning about this vast field. Having interests in design, art, and human psychology while honing the traits of being an empathetic and understanding person, I thought of giving the users what they want. I felt the field of UI UX design is a perfect fit for me as it ignites my interests all the more to dive deep into Interaction and Experience Design.
What intrigues me is the psychology of human experience, approaching design as a way of critical problem-solving and getting insights into end-to-end planning/execution of interactive processes with human-centered design. I would then combine acquired knowledge with my existing skills to carve out a niche for myself and contribute to the organization's growth.
I have 5 years of professional experience with my primary areas of work related to Visual Design and Digital Media. In my former organization - One Digital Entertainment, while I led a team of 3 designers as a Lead Graphic Designer I honed the skills of understanding the needs of stakeholders and clients. It was a great learning experience having taken the lead of a team in a company that has such a huge clientele. Working with One Digital Entertainment was challenging due to the time crunch and vast amount of work that used to come in on a daily basis but it was also an exciting environment as the work used to be unique for every other client.
In my free time, I have always enjoyed going out with my camera, capturing landscapes, the city, or going for hikes. I have a close connection with nature and love exploring and taking time out to be amongst the flora and fauna, blessed by nature. As an athlete, I enjoy playing soccer whenever possible or playing FIFA with my friends. I love music and regularly listen to and explore different kinds of music. I have a weakness for coffee and well-decorated cafes and I generally explore some of the best cafes in the city.
Usually, I am very excited to attempt new things, be it related to my career or personal. I keep upgrading my skills which will enable me to spike my growth chart. As a photographer, I have gotten used to looking at the finer and more in-depth nuances of details which will give me 100% satisfaction, in whatever I do. I like to keep myself updated with the latest tech trends as it is interesting to me.
